On behalf of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia I welcome you to the 44th HFESA conference. The conference will take place in Adelaide from 17-19 November 2008. At our conference you’ll be part of a dynamic group of people who come together annually to discuss, challenge, assert, listen, learn and practice new trends in human factors and ergonomics (HFE). The theme of the conference is Sustainable Performance - The Human Factor, Ergonomics and the Work Environment. What a topical theme! Sustainability is a key driver of business performance, development and research and community expectations in our fast changing environment. We face so much change in so many facets of our lives, including: technological, economic, climate, industrial, organisational—we solve problems but are faced with others…here’s an opportunity to learn and share your part of the picture with others and hear other points of view.
