Post Conference Workshop

Did you know that designing for the 5th percentile female to the 95th percentile male can lead to poor and unsafe designs?

If not, you are not alone. Most human factors/ergonomics professionals and engineers are only taught about percentiles as a means to solve their design problems. But there are better solutions!

Attend our 2-day post-conference workshop on "Anthropometrics and Design" to put yourself in the picture with the world’s  latest trends in anthropometrics and its application to design.

The workshop will showcase the most practical and effective methods for incorporating the human body in design as developed by US Air Force CARD Lab's Dr Kathleen Robinette, Dr Jeff Hudson and Dr Greg Zehner.

Participants will be given case studies illustrating best practice use of anthropometrics in design that have resulted in engineering to ensure maximum benefit and capabilities of products that people use.  The workshop will include:

  • anthropometry methods
  • how to apply the most up-to-date anthropometric data such as 3D laser scans.
  • 3D fit-mapping
The workshop will be conducted at UniSA by HFESA08 keynote speaker, Dr Greg Zehner, from the US Air Force Research Laboratory. Your can read more about Greg on the Speaker’s page.

You can register your interest on the registration form, or send an email to the Conference Secretariat. hfesa2008@sapro.com.au
